Academic OneFile
Multi-disciplinary database containing mostly peer-reviewed, scholarly articles from the world's leading journals and reference sources. Over 8,000 academic journal titles are included with extensive coverage of the physical sciences, technology, medicine, social sciences, the arts, theology, literature and many other subjects. Also includes hundreds of podcasts and transcripts from NPR, CNN, and CBC, as well as full text New York Times content back to 1995. Coverage 1964 (selected titles) – present.

ARBAonline
Full text database containing reviews of print and electronic reference works. Geared more towards librarians as a tool to select the best reference materials for their collections and inform them of the most current resources available. Coverage: 1997 – present.

Biography Resource Center w/ Marquis Who's Who
Full text database with Biography Resource Center containing over 427,000 biographies from quality reference sources plus articles from hundreds of periodicals chosen for their biographical content. Search for people based on one or more personal facts such as birth and death year, nationality, ethnicity, occupation or gender, or combine criteria to create a highly-targeted custom search. Marquis Who’s Who is an added and integrated module containing more than 1.4 million thumbnail biographies.

Biomedical Reference Collection: Basic
Medical database providing full text for over 100 journals, including full text for many peer-reviewed, scholarly publications. (Some titles have indexing and abstracts only for earlier years.) Virtually every area of medical study is covered, including clinical medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system and the pre-clinical sciences. All titles included in this database are also indexed in MEDLINE, with a link from the MEDLINE article to the article in this database if Biomedical Reference Collection has the full text article. Coverage: 1985 – present.

Business Source Premier
Considered the industry’s most used business research database, providing full text for more than 8,800 periodicals, including full text for more than 1,100 scholarly business publications. Coverage includes virtually all subject areas related to business. The database also includes other sources of full text information such as country economic reports from the EIU, Global Insight, ICON Group, CountryWatch, and detailed company profiles for the world's 10,000 largest companies. Coverage: 1965 – present (350 of these journals covered from 1922 to the present)  

CINAHL
This database provides indexing for over 2,818 journals from the fields of nursing and allied health, including nursing, biomedicine, health sciences librarianship, alternative/complementary medicine, consumer health and 17 allied health disciplines. Full text material includes more than 70 journals plus legal cases, clinical innovations, critical paths, drug records, research instruments and clinical trials. Also offers access to health care books, nursing dissertations, selected conference proceedings, standards of practice, educational software, audiovisuals and book chapters. Coverage: 1982 – present.

Contemporary Literary Criticism Select
Full text database providing an extensive collection of critical essays on contemporary authors. Each CLC-Select entry also contains a link to a “Biographical/Critical Introduction” page that lists the major works of the author, provides biographical information, discusses their major works, the author’s critical reception, further readings about the author, and links to the full text critical journal articles. Coverage: Writers now living or who died after December 31, 1959.

CQ Researcher
Full text database with original, comprehensive reporting and analysis on issues in the news. Noted for in-depth, unbiased coverage, each single-themed, 12,000-word report is researched and written by an experienced journalist. Provides an introductory overview; background and chronology on the topic; an assessment of the current situation; tables and maps; pro/con statements from representatives of opposing positions; and bibliographies of key sources. Coverage: 1991 – present.

CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics, 87th edition
This handbook provides current, critically evaluated chemical and physical data. Many of the most heavily used tables receive major updates and expansions, most notably: Physical Properties of Inorganic Compounds; Bond Dissociation Energies; and Chemical Carcinogens was updated in accordance with the recent report from the National Toxicology Program.

Credo Reference
Full text database of articles from hundreds of reference books covering all major topics; includes audio files, images, and maps.

Criminal Justice Abstracts
The database contains summaries of books, journal articles, and reports on wide range of criminal justice topics. (This database does not contain full-text material.)

Dictionary of Literary Biography
Full text database providing biographical and critical essays on the lives, works, and careers of the world's most influential literary figures from all eras and genres.

EBSCO Animals
Provides young students with thousands of easy-to-read entries about mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, dinosaurs and prehistoric animals. The database consists of indexing, abstracts, and full text records describing the nature and habitat of familiar animals.

Educator's Reference Complete
A selection of more than 450 full-text academic journals, hundreds of full-text reports, and many premier reference sources. Included content focuses on educational principles, child development and psychology, and best practices in education.

eLibrary 
Full text multi-disciplinary database providing access to magazines, newspapers, books, TV and radio transcripts, reference book articles, plus thousands of maps, pictures, web links, and audio/video files. Coverage: 1981 – present (Multimedia: historical to present).

ERIC
ERIC, the Educational Resource Information Center sponsored by the U.S. Dept. of Education, provides access to education literature and resources, giving full text of more than 2,200 digests along with references for additional information, citations and abstracts from over 1,000 educational and education-related journals. Coverage: 1966 – present.

Expanded Academic ASAP
A multi-disciplinary database providing indexing and a number of abstracts for 3,390 journals/periodicals with full text for 2,089 of these titles. Coverage includes articles in the social sciences, humanities, science and technology; national news periodicals; general interest magazines; and the New York Times newspaper (indexed only). Includes many scholarly/academic journal articles. Coverage: 1980 – present.

Funk & Wagnalls New World Encyclopedia
Full text database indexing over 25,000 records, covering an array of topics. Articles range from a paragraph to several pages. Learn about related topics by clicking on the links provided throughout the article.

Gale Virtual Reference Library
Full text database providing 23 subject specific dictionaries, encyclopedias and general reference books as well as the online version of the Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary. Subjects include contemporary fashion, poets and novelists, film, alternative medicine, popular culture, small business and more. Includes two children’s visual reference books on the U.S. and the world.

General Business File ASAP
An international database providing indexing, abstracts and full text to numerous articles on analysis of company performance and activity, industry events and trends, as well as the latest in management and economics. Includes 200,000 company profiles; more than 50,000 full-text Investext (investment) reports; late-breaking news and event on companies, industries, products and executives; and the latest in business theory, economics and favored practices. Coverage: 1980 – present.

Health Reference Center - Academic
This multi-source database integrates the full text and images of respected nursing, allied health and medical journals; consumer health magazines; newsletters; pamphlets; newspaper articles; topical overviews; and reference books. Most of these sources provide the full text of the article/chapter. Find articles on: fitness, pregnancy, medicine, nutrition, diseases, public health, occupational health and safety, alcohol and drug abuse, HMOs, prescription drugs, etc. Coverage: 1980 – present.

Health Source: Consumer Edition
One of the richest collections of consumer health information available to libraries worldwide, providing access to nearly 300 full text consumer health periodicals. It also includes searchable full text for more than 1,000 health-related pamphlets and 129 health reference books. Additionally, Health Source: Consumer Edition contains more than 4,500 Clinical Reference Systems reports; Clinical Pharmacology, which provides access to 1,100 drug monograph entries and 2,700 patient education fact sheets; and Merriam-Webster's Medical Desk Dictionary.

InfoTrac Junior Edition
Designed for junior high and middle school students, this database offers access to articles in magazines, newspapers and reference books (most full-text) for information on current events, the arts, science, popular culture, health, people, government, history, sports and more.

InfoTrac Kid's InfoBits
Full text database designed for grades K-5, this database introduces young students to the research process -- challenging them to think and explore in fun new ways. It features a developmentally appropriate and visually graphic interface, a subject-based topic tree search, and full-text, age-appropriate, curriculum-related access to magazines, reference books and newspaper articles selected just for their age group. Coverage: Back file of 5 years.

InfoTrac Student Edition
Designed for high school students, this database provides access to a variety of indexed and full-text magazines, newspapers and reference books for information on current events, the arts, science, popular culture, health, people, government, history, sports and more. LEXIS®-NEXIS®: Business
Full text database providing general business, industry and market news; accounting articles and literature; company information, including detailed financial data and SEC filings and reports; and directories of contact and resource information for companies and industries. Search features also permit comparison of companies based on criteria such as sales, income and number of employees.

LEXIS®-NEXIS®: Legal
Full text database that includes access to legal news and law reviews; federal and state case law, including Shepard’s Citations for all U.S. Supreme Court cases back to 1789; federal and state codes, federal regulations and tax law; international legal materials; patent research; and career information.

LEXIS®-NEXIS®: News
Full text news database of articles from hundreds of regional, national, and world newspapers; more than 400 magazines and journals and over 600 newsletters. Also provides full text transcripts from television and radio news shows as well as political transcripts. (The Providence Journal newspaper is indexed here with full text articles from 1994 to the present.)

LEXIS®-NEXIS®: Academic
Full text database providing biographical information on politicians, business executives, and more; country profiles; polls and surveys from the Roper Center for Public Opinion Research; quotations; state profiles; and the world almanac.

Literary Reference Center
Includes authors from antiquity to the present day, writing in various genres. This database provides plot summaries, author biographies, and readable criticism useful for students. Sources include books, major literary encyclopedias and reference works, and scholarly literary journals.

MAS Ultra - School Edition
Designed specifically for high school students, this database provides mostly full text for more than 700 popular general interest and current events publications. Also provides more than 500 full text pamphlets, over 540 full text reference books, more than 84,500 biographies, over 100,000 primary source documents, and an Image Collection of over 202,000 photos, maps and flags. Coverage: 1975 – present.

Massachusetts History Online
Contains full-text articles gathered from almost 50 sources that directly relate to MA history.

MasterFILE Premier
Designed specifically for public libraries, this multidisciplinary database provides full text for more than 1,900 periodicals; nearly 500 full text reference books; more than 84,700 biographies; over 100,500 primary source documents, and an Image Collection of more than 202,100 photos, maps and flags. Coverage: 1975 – present.

MEDLINE
MEDLINE provides authoritative medical information on medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, pre-clinical sciences, and much more. Created by the National Library of Medicine, MEDLINE allows users to search citations and abstracts from over 4,800 current biomedical journals.

Military & Government Collection
Designed to offer current news pertaining to all branches of the military and government, this database offers a thorough collection of periodicals, academic journals, and pamphlets. Provides indexing and abstracts for nearly 400 titles, 300 of which are full text. Also provides the full text of over 240 pamphlets.

Oxford English Dictionary 
The Oxford English Dictionary (OED) is recognized as the authority on the evolution of the English language for the past 1,000 years. It is an unsurpassed guide to the meaning, history, and pronunciation of over half a million words, both present and past, listing variant spellings as well. It traces the usage of words through 2.5 million quotations from a wide range of international English language sources, from classic literature and specialist periodicals to film scripts and cookery books.

Pre-CINAHL
A companion database to CINAHL, Pre-CINAHL is intended to provide current awareness of new journal articles, and includes a rotating file of limited bibliographic information (no subject searching), which are available to searchers only for the time when these articles are being assigned additional indexing.

Primary Search
Full text database designed specifically for elementary school students. Contains nearly 70 popular magazines for elementary school research. All full text articles included in the database are assigned a reading level indicator (Lexiles). Full text is also available for over 100 student pamphlets. Scribner Writer's Series
Full text database of biographical and critical essays on the lives and works of important authors from around the world. Writers selected span a wide variety of time periods and represent different literary genres. More than 1,600 authors are covered, with each entry averaging from 15-20 pages in length.
