Suggest Additions to the Collection or Reserve Equipment for your classroom.
Recommend Books or Media
Is there an item you would like the library to purchase to support your curriculum? Recommending books or media is a great way to suggest materials for the LRC. Acquisition requests are forwarded to the appropriate division liaison for evaluation and possible acquisition. Although submission of this form does not guarantee purchase, we do try to accommodate requests to the best of our ability.
Media Scheduling
If you require equipment for your classroom, media scheduling is one method of requesting equipment such as computer carts with LCD projectors, DVD players, and overhead projectors, or just let us know what you need and we will try to accommodate you.
Search the 35mm slide collection.
In addition to the regular collection of print and media materials that circulate to all, the materials below are restricted for use by current BCC faculty for classroom instructional support. Loan periods may be less than for similar titles in the general collection. A current AccessBCC borrower card is required to check-out materials.
Enter a search term, select search type and click on the search button. For a complete listing, just click the search button with entering terms.
Place Material on Reserve.
Course Reserves
Library Course Reserves provides access to course-related readings and other materials selected and put on reserve by faculty for students to access. In addition to the Course Reserves housed physically in the LRC, we have an online option for certain materials. Online Course Reserves allow students access 24/7 as long as they have a computer with an internet connection.
What type of material may you place on reserve?
- Library-owned books
- Personal copies of books
- Photocopies (i.e. articles, sample term papers, manuscripts, book excerpts)
- Past semester/sample exams and quizzes
- Homework assignments and solutions
- Lecture notes and course syllabi
- Videos and DVDs
How can I get books not found in the Library collection?
- The Library may order copies of books to be placed on reserve.
- The Library does not order copies of textbooks, but faculty members are encouraged to place personal copies of textbooks on reserve.
If your class will be utilizing Library Reserves this upcoming semester, please contact Robert Rezendes ext. 2106 to confirm the item is available.
If you have not used the Library Course Reserve service before or wish to set up a new reserve, please submit your reserve requests as soon as possible.
All materials will be taken off reserve at the end of each semester. If the same material is being used for the following semester, you must contact either Helena Brewer at ext 2105, or Bob Rezendes at ext 2106.
Information Literacy.
Simply defined, "information literacy" is the term now commonly used to describe the ability to search for, locate, evaluate, and appropriately use information. If you are a faculty member, and want to bring in your class for library instruction, please contact Gabriela Adler ext. 2104, or fill out our online form for Information Literacy Request.
For further resources please visit our Faculty Information Literacy Tools page.
The Archive Room and Faculty Publications.
The library maintains an Archive Room and collects publications by BCC faculty and staff. If you have published your work, please let us know. Donated copies are welcome. Search using the terms “BCC faculty publications” so that you can pull up all of them in the online catalog.
Divisional Library Liaison.
The Library offers a division liaison service for the departments and programs within the College. Its purpose is to provide an educational link between the library and the faculty divisions by establishing an ongoing partnership with teaching faculty. Liaisons can visit your department to share current information regarding library programs, resources, and services and can discuss your needs by e-mail or phone. Faculty are invited to contact liaisons about library collections and services, existing resources in your field, and procedures for requesting materials for the library to support your teaching, clinical and research needs.
