Counseling

The counselor supports student success and helps to ensure positive outcomes to each and every learner in the following ways:

  • Provides information to individuals that inquire about the ABE Program.
  • Helps prospective students determine if this program is suitable for their needs.
  • Is responsible for assisting students from intake to exit.
  • Is available for GED counseling as well as career counseling.
  • Is a resource to teachers to discuss student issues.
  • Provides referral to outside resources.

Students are welcome to walk-in, to telephone, leave a note, or sign for an appointment on the door of L114.

Career Counseling and Transitional Services
The exploration of Career development services in the Adult Basic Education Program is a special component of the counseling services offered to help you learn new skills to explore future career and educational prospects. Learn about career options and how to make informed career choices by:

  • Learning about training programs and services
  • Registering for a career speaker series
  • Taking a career interest inventory test
  • Visiting the local career center
  • Obtaining information on programs at BCC and careers available through college courses.
