Marginalizing Black Women One Cell at a Time, Carole Copeland Thomas
Tuesday, November 20
11 a.m. -12:15 p.m., H210, Fall River Campus
What happens when researchers perform medical experiments on unsuspecting people? This year’s One Book, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot, serves as the backdrop for an honest discussion about how marginalizing African Americans, women in particular, has challenged the growth and progress of this nation for years. Professional Speaker Carole Copeland Thomas will lead an interactive session designed to illustrate the resilience of the African American spirit.
