Mission Statement

The TASC is committed to providing academic support for the Bristol Community College learning community. TASC helps students develop the skills needed to become independent learners and to achieve their educational goals.

The TASC recognizes that our students differ in age, academic preparation, and cultural and linguistic background and that students learn in a variety of ways and at different paces. To meet the needs of both day and continuing education students a variety of services are offered including: peer tutoring, supplemental instruction and audio and visual support material.

The TASC also provides opportunities for peer tutors in the areas of education and community service. Through training and certification, tutors can gain an understanding of how people learn. Hopefully, the training will both assist in providing help for tutees as well as advance the learning of tutors.

The TASC also provides resources to faculty and professional staff assisting them in their instructional goals as well as in their own professional development.
