Tutoring
The Tutoring and Academic Support Center (TASC) offers tutoring support for nearly all of the courses given at the college. These courses range, for example, from arithmetic (MTH 01) to calculus (MTH 14, 15) and from basic writing (English 10) to upper level literature courses (ENG 50s). Tutors are available for programs in all of the divisions of the college. While much of the tutoring happens at the Tutoring and Academic Support Center (TASC) in B110, tutors can also be found at the Writing Center in K building (see link) as well as at the A & P, Nursing and Quest labs (see link to CDE programs) and at the Luso Center in D Building. Tutoring is also found at the New Bedford campus and the Attleboro Center.
Tutoring and Academic Support Center (TASC) tutors are also available to help with a wide-range of study skills such as note-taking, textbook reading, time management and testing strategies. In addition to working with a tutor, students can utilize computers in the Tutoring and Academic Support Center (TASC) as well as audio-visual and print material.
All of the Tutoring and Academic Support Center (TASC) tutors go through a training program and are eligible to be certified as a tutor through our affiliation with the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA).
