BCC Welcomes New Vice President for Student Services & Enrollment Management

As Vice President of Student Services and Enrollment Management at BCC, Dr. Cabellon will provide strategic vision, leadership and administrative direction to all college initiatives related to student enrollment, persistence and student services. Dr. Cabellon will be responsible for facilitating a college culture that attracts, enrolls and retains a culturally and socio-economically diverse community and advances the college's mission and vision by facilitating student engagement and success.
Following positions as associate director of Student Activities at the Mayer Campus Center at Tufts University, in Medford, Mass., and as director of the Rondileau Campus Center at Bridgewater State University, in Bridgewater, Mass., Cabellon was appointed director of Administration for the division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management at Bridgewater State University.
During this time, Cabellon developed new divisional and departmental mission, vision and goal statements in conjunction with the university’s strategic planning process, raised over $130,000 since 2015 to directly impact students through the student emergency and Athletics funds, created and launched BSUlife.com, a student-focused and mobile optimized information hub of content produced by a student-led Integrated Marketing Team and led the recreation of the BSU student portal (http://mybsu.bridgew.edu) to provide one centralized student services resource.
In his spare time, Ed volunteers as a youth soccer coach in Brockton for his daughters' travel team, raises funds for charity organizations such as Tenacity Boston, and stays active as an avid runner (two-time Boston Marathon finisher) and golfer.
Longtime BCC Employee Robert Rezendes to Lead Taunton Center
Robert Rezendes, of Westport, Mass., has been appointed Dean of the Bristol Community College Taunton Center. He earned a Bachelor of
Science in electrical engineering at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth; a Master of library and information studies at the University of Rhode Island, South Kingstown, Rhode Island; and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in educational leadership and policy studies at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
As Dean of the BCC Taunton center, Rezendes will oversee and foster the continued expansion of the center. He will provide day-to-day management and administrative oversight of all programs, services, staffing, and budgeting related to the operation of the Taunton center serving a growing population of nearly a thousand students.
An employee of Bristol Community College for more than 20 years, Bob is well known throughout the BCC Community. In 1996, he was hired as the coordinator of circulation and interlibrary loans, a position he held until 2003, when he became an access services librarian. In 2010, he became the assistant director of library services, and in 2013, was selected to lead all BCC libraries, serving as associate dean of library services. In addition to those duties, in 2015, he served as acting dean of the BCC New Bedford campus.
Rezendes has served the college in a variety of leadership positions, including serving as a NEASC (New England Association of Schools and Colleges) co-chair, and since 2007, has served as chair of the college’s Budget Committee. In recent years, he has also served as a driving force in the development of BCC’s growing open educational resources. He has also been a regional and statewide leader in professional organizations, serving on the board of directors and as president of the SAILS Library Network, and as president of the Massachusetts Commonwealth Consortium of Libraries in Public Higher Education Institutions.
He begins his new duties as the dean of the BCC Taunton center on May 27, 2018.
