11th Annual BCC Cake Show & Competition
After 10 years at the Fall River Campus, the annual BCC Cake Show & Competition is moving to a new venue, the Silver City Galleria in Taunton, Mass. In addition to our new location, we are expanding to a two-day event. That’s right, a whole weekend of cake!
Join us on Saturday, April 7th from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Sunday April 8th from Noon - 6 p.m. for the 11th Annual BCC Cake Show & Competition. The event features a show cake completion, a wedding cake competition, sugar art and cake decorating classes, vendor demos and an artisan’s marketplace. Admission to the show is free!
This year’s theme of “Glitz and Glamour” will most certainly provide a stunning display of gorgeous, sparkly, glittery, glamorous cakes inspired by fashion, travel, and the luxurious lifestyles of the rich and famous. Follow the BCC Cake Competition on Facebook for updates, decorating tips, and more! For additional information and sponsorship opportunities, email us at BCCCakeCompetition@BristolCC.edu.
This year, we are excited to welcome award-winning cake designer, Erin Gardner, as our celebrity judge! As an author and instructor, Erin shares her decorating techniques, baking tips and recipes on her blog, ErinBakes.com.
About the BCC Cake Competition
The BCC Cake Show & Competition is an annual event that educates, inspires, and promotes the art of cake decorating.
As the principal cake show in the New England region, the BCC Cake Show & Competition brings together pastry chefs, cake decorators, sugar artists, baking hobbyists, and everyday foodies for an inspirational and educational celebration of the baking and pastry arts.
Since 2007, the event has provided an all-inclusive environment for bakers, cake decorators, and sugar artists to showcase their talent. Held each spring the cake show & competition features a show cake display, a wedding cake display, classes for decorators and confectionery artists, vendor demos, and an artisan’s marketplace.
Culinary celebrities and master cake artists including Toba Garrett, Nicholas Lodge, and Linkie Marais, and Lisa Raffael have been guest presenters and competition judges.
The event is organized/hosted by the BCC Culinary Arts Program and is a fundraiser for SkillsUSA (an educational organization which supports career and technical education). Funds raised through the competition are used to support sending BCC/SkillsUSA students to State and National SkillsUSA Conferences.
