The Commencement Ceremony will be held, rain or shine, on the Fall River campus (777 Elsbree Street) under a large tent Saturday, June 2, at 11 a.m. and will be followed by a reception in the Commonwealth College Center (G building) cafeteria. Light refreshments will be served. All graduates should arrive on campus at 9:15 a.m. and check in at the Jackson Arts Center (H building) lobby.
Additional instructions will be outlined in the Graduation Information memo you will receive when you pick up your cap and gown at the Bookstore.
Please make note of the following which will not be allowed at the Commencement ceremony:
- Balloons or banners (signs)
- Book bags/oversized handbags not allowed (only pocketbooks allowed and will be subjected to a search)
- No smoking on Campus
- No alcoholic beverages
- Service animals only (if any)
- Noise makers or air horns
Apply to Graduate
Starting February 1, 2018, you are eligible to apply to graduate from BCC if you have completed 90% of your program. You can graduate at the end of the Fall, Spring, or Summer semesters. Commencement is held at the end of the Spring semester on the Fall River Campus.
You can apply by logging into your accessBCC account and click the link for "Apply to Graduate." Fill out the application, and you'll be on your way to Commencement.
To check on the status of your application, click the "View Application to Graduate Status" link in your accessBCC account.
Forms and Resources
You will receive a diploma cover during the commencement ceremony. Degrees and certificates will be mailed to the address you provided on your graduation application, and should be received within one month after the ceremony.
If you are a December graduate, you should have already received your diploma.

A wheelchair accessible ramp to the stage will be provided for graduates, and specialized seating for guests with disabilities is available on a limited basis with advanced notice. Please contact the BCC Office of Disability Services in advance to discuss the details of the accommodation.
Reserved seating for guests with disabilities (and one personal care attendant) is prioritized for those that have made arrangements with the college in advance. The college cannot guarantee reserved seating to accommodate guests with disabilities that have not called ahead. Once the ceremony begins, reserved seating will be released to other guests. Please arrive early and plan accordingly.
