UPCOMING EVENTS
The Office of Academic Affairs provides oversight and leadership for all credit-bearing academic programs, instruction, and support services at all College locations, including online.
Activities and areas of responsibility include oversight of curriculum, planning, budget administration, staffing, professional development for faculty and professional staff, development of degree and certificate programs, and various professional accreditations.
The fundamental goal of the Office of Academic Affairs is to promote student learning by fostering excellence in teaching and an environment that promotes individual students to develop into critical thinkers and autonomous learners.
Academic Forgiveness Policy Revision
40% completed
The Academic Forgiveness policy is being reviewed, and several changes being considered, in order to better meet students' needs and assist them in completing their education. In the meantime, applications for Academic Forgiveness are not being accepted; students should consult their advisors to determine what their options are.
Program List Creation
60% completed
A list of all of the academic programs available at Bristol is being compiled and reviewed; the goal of this project is to ensure consistency and accuracy in the information provided to various reporting agencies and that any changes to requirements, curriculum, etc. are made as necessary.
LMS Integration
90% completed
Bristol is switching from Blackboard to a new Learning Management System. The process will take a number of months to launch, with a Spring 2024 pilot to follow, and an anticipation of full scale operations by Fall 2024.
Academic Freedom Policy
25% completed
The Academic Affairs office is driving the adoption of a shared policy on Academic Freedom to ensure adequate faculty protection of first amendment related rights in the classroom.
