Traces of the Trade: A Story from the Deep North
Start Date: 2/4/2009Start Time: 9:00 AM
End Date: 2/4/2009End Time: 4:00 PM

Event Description
A unique and disturbing journey into the history and legacy of the U.S. slave trade. The documentary tracks what happens as filmmaker Katrina Browne comes to grips with the discovery that her New England ancestors were the largest slavetrading family in U.S. history. Her film is a probing essay into divergent versions of a nation’s history. James DeWolf Perry, one of the descendents of that family, will discuss the documentary on February 9. Note: The documentary will continuously show throughout the day on Fall River campus closed circuit system, channel 11.
