When we first launched the All Media Juried Exhibition in 2009 we had no idea how popular it would become. This biennial exhibition features some of the best work in the South Coast region. As such it provides a welcome opportunity to showcase the diverse talents of regional artists. This year we had 175 submissions and our juror chose 54 works for the exhibition.

The show features a span of works that cover an extraordinary array of topics and ideas. The range of media is impressive as well, and works in the exhibition include two site-specific installations, textiles, basketry, neon, digital video, dryer lint, along with paintings, ceramics, sculpture, and works on paper. The show is an enthusiastic expression of what is happening at this moment in our area.

A very special thanks goes to our juror Sabrina Locks, Curatorial Assistant for Contemporary Art at the RISD Museum. Locks pulled together a great exhibition. At RISD Locks has organized Corinna Schnitt: Once Upon a Time (2011), Open Call for Video Art (2011), and Jeremy Deller: Manchester Tracks (2012).

Prior to RISD, she worked in the education department at the New Museum in New York City (2007-2010), and is a co-author of Show & Tell: A Chronicle of Group Material (2010), the first monographic publication on the New York-based artist collective Group Material (1979-1996). Locks studied at the Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard College, where she curated Vital Archive | Revisiting Group Material's AIDS Timeline (2009).
