Selected Works from Members of the New England Sculptors Association
March 10 – April 6, 2011
The Gallery is pleased to host a selection of works from members of the New England Sculptors Association. Begun in 1948 by students and teachers from the Museum School of Fine Arts it is one of the oldest sculptors associations in the country. NESA represents both established and emerging artist members who work in a variety of media. Currently there are about 120 active members. NESA is particularly interested in investing in the next generation of sculptors and offers membership for established and emerging artists. In addition to providing a forum to discuss and exhibit works, members are available to consult on all questions regarding three-dimensional objects. This includes the acquisition and display, care and restoration, as well as commissions and fabrication projects.
Recent exhibition venues for the group include the New Bedford Museum of Art, the Attleboro Art Museum, the Federal Reserve Bank in Boston, the Worcester Museum of Fine Arts, the Springfield Museum of Fine Arts, the Currier Gallery in Manchester New Hampshire, and the DeCordova Museum.
This exhibition was juried by Tim O'Connor and John Michael Gray, co-directors of the New England Art Education Conference.
