The Grimshaw-Gudewicz Art Gallery supports the educational mission of the college, provides an opportunity for the healthy exchange of ideas, in terms of both in process and product, enriches the environment of the local community and, through its permanent collection, provides an important resource for the cultural heritage of the region. The gallery’s goal is to present a variety of art exhibitions and educational programming to directly engage viewers through observation and analysis of artworks. Gallery exhibitions are designed to support the learning environment and create situations for the students and the community to explore the creative process, and to introduce everyone to both conventional and innovative approaches to creating, understanding and defining meaning in art objects. Objects from the college’s permanent collection of sculpture, paintings and works on paper exhibited throughout the campus are an important resource to the community and reflect the broad diversity and vitality of contemporary art today.
