Calling all cake decorators! We are looking for unique, creative, whimsical, awe-inspiring cakes. Showcase your talent and skills at the 12th Annual Bristol Cake Show & Competition.
The Bristol Cake Show & Competition is open to everyone – professional cake decorators, home bakers, culinary students, and kids. We have competition categories for everyone!
The competition provides an opportunity for cake decorating and sugar art enthusiasts of all ages and skills to showcase their decorating skills and talent, get feedback from judges, win awards and prizes, and network with local and regional cake aficionados. Entries are classified by DIVISION (the experience/skill level of the entrant) and CATEGORY (the cake style/type).
New this year. We have added a novelty cupcake category to the cake competition categories and a cupcake taste-off competition.
Entries for the novelty cupcake category will be judged on originality of design, combination of techniques, and media used. These cupcakes will be for display purposes only and will not be tasted.
The cupcake taste-off entries will be judged on flavor, texture, density, and appearance. Cupcakes, frosting and any fillings must be made from scratch, no mixes or premade frostings/fillings can be used.
Entries for the Show Cake Competition and Novelty Cupcake Competition must be based on the theme of “Wonders of the Natural World.” Cake(s) can be inspired by zoology, botany, ornithology, entomology, paleontology, archeology, geology, oceanography, astronomy, and ichthyology. Entries should celebrate the beauty and diversity of the natural world as well as honor the early natural history museums and cabinets of curiosities.
We are also looking for romantic, expressive, creative cakes for the Wedding Cake division of the show. Entries for the Wedding Cake Competition do not need to adhere to this year’s theme.
