MWPHE Scholarship for Women
The Massachusetts Women in Public Higher Education (MWPHE) is once again requesting applications for Student Achievement Scholarship Awards, which recognize the outstanding achievements of female students who are educated in the Massachusetts public higher education system. Since 1992, MWPHE has awarded scholarships to women who have overcome significant personal barriers to achieve academic success through our Commonwealth’s public institutions. This scholarship was developed to reward and recognize MassTransfer graduates of the Massachusetts community colleges for meritorious academic achievement. Up to fifteen scholarships are available each year (both fall and spring admits are considered). Each award is $2,500 per year for full-time students (pro-rated for part-time students) until the student completes their first bachelor's degree requirements at UMass Amherst. Students with a 3.5 or higher GPA at the time of application are eligible to apply for the scholarship. Upon application to UMASS Amherst, eligible students will be mailed a scholarship application. Scholarship awards are made by a scholarship committee.

Eligible students are those who are graduating from a two-year college (public or private). Students must have a grade point average of 3.25 or better and have completed their associate degree program before matriculating at UMD. The scholarships are renewable for up to four semesters if students complete 18 credits a year and maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average. Application for admission and subsequent acceptance to UMD will automatically allow students to be considered. Consideration given to students who apply for fall admission by March 1, 2015. Recipients are selected by UMD’s Admissions Committee.

*Unless otherwise noted, scholarships are for students who will graduate from BCC in June or August 2015 and plan to attend a four-year institution full-time during the day in the fall of 2015.
Next Step to Emerson Transfer Scholarship
Emerson College awards half-tuition scholarships valued at more than $15,000 to high-achieving transfer students who plan to transfer to Emerson in fall 2015. The scholarships are renewable for a second year.
- Students must have at least a 3.2 GPA
- Students must have an associate’s degree from an eligible community college. BCC students are eligible.
- Students must enroll full-time at Emerson and complete their Emerson degree in five or fewer semesters
- Students must maintain a 3.0 GPA while at Emerson to continue to receive the scholarship

Emerson College Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship
To be considered eligible to apply for this $4,000 award, students must earn an Associate’s Degree with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 from an accredited community college and be an official member in good standing of Phi Theta Kappa. The deadline to apply is April 1. This scholarship is limited to fall term enrollment and students must apply for transfer admission by March 15. Students who apply for the Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship must plan to enroll full-time at Emerson College and complete their degree in five or fewer semesters. While on campus, students must maintain a 3.0 GPA in order to continue to receive this scholarship. Emerson College Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship Application Deadline April 1.

The Phi Theta Kappa Spring Common Scholarship competition opened on March 2. You may be eligible for one or more of these scholarships, which are for students returning to their community college in fall 2015. You just need to fill out one application. Click here to find out more.
Complete a Bachelor’s Degree Abroad for Free
Students at any of Massachusetts’ 15 community colleges are invited to apply for the new Shorelight Global Scholarship. Scholarship recipients will be provided with a full two-year scholarship, including tuition, housing, and airfare, to attend the undergraduate School of Business and Entrepreneurship at Bath Spa University in Bath, England, beginning in the 2015 fall semester. This two-year commitment will enable recipients to complete the required coursework leading to the conferring of an undergraduate bachelor’s degree. For details, click here.
Greater New Bedford Garden Club
The Greater New Bedford Garden Club is accepting applications for the $1000 Rose L. Murphy Scholarship to be awarded to a student enrolled in a full-time college program in 2015-2016. The applicant must be pursuing a degree in horticulture, landscape architecture, conservation, environmental sciences, or related fields. Student must have been a legal Massachusetts resident for at least 1 year prior to June 1 of their high school graduation. Click Here for an application, due date May 1, 2015. Eastern Nazarene College
Scholarship for Social Work Majors - Students who graduate from BCC’s Human Services program with a GPA of 2.5 or higher can take advantage of a new articulation agreement between Eastern Nazarene College and Bristol Community College. You can view the agreement at: Transfer Agreements. In addition, students are automatically awarded merit scholarships with the following GPA’s.
Students who are members of Phi Theta Kappa will receive an additional $2,500. Human Services graduates will also have the opportunity to apply for one of four Social Work Scholarships in the amount of $2,500. This means it is possible for a Human Services graduate with a 3.5 GPA who is a member of PTK and who wins one of the four Social Work scholarships to be awarded a merit scholarship package of $17,500!. Scholarship for Management Majors - ENC offers generous tuition discounts and scholarships to BCC students and staff enrolled in their bachelor of arts degree in Management. Classes are held on BCC’s Fall River campus and students with an associate’s degree from BCC in ANY program are eligible. Classes meet one night a week and students can finish the degree in 24 months. ENC also offers a Master of Science in Management degree at BCC. Download the information here: .
Green Mountain College Scholarship
Green Mountain College in Vermont is a four-year liberal arts college focusing on environmental sustainability. Scholarships provide for up to $24,000 per year based on cumulative college GPA for students with 24 or more college credits. Roger Williams University Guaranteed Scholarships
Roger Williams University provides merit scholarships to students who are enrolled in a BCC transfer program and graduate from BCC with the criteria listed below. These scholarships are not dependent on financial aid eligibility.\
- Phi Theta Kappa Membership $10,000
- GPA of 3.60 or greater $10,000
- GPA = 3.30-3.59 $8,000
- GPA = 3.00-3.29 $6,000
*Students must enroll as full-time, day students at RWU to be eligible. Scholarships are granted for 2 years maximum. To retain eligibility at RWU students must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3 for the $10,000 scholarships and 3.0 for other scholarships.
Guaranteed Scholarships from Bryant University
Bryant University has expanded their scholarship support to outstanding BCC transfer students. They will guarantee three $14,000 academic scholarships to students enrolled full time in the following BCC programs:
- One scholarship to a student in the Presidential Scholars Program.
- Two scholarships to students enrolled in the Communication Transfer Program, Business Administration Transfer Program or the Computer Information Systems Transfer Program.
- Acceptance to Bryant University as a full-time student.
- Completion of an associate’s degree in one of the three Bryant University articulation agreement programs.
- Recent graduate from BCC with a minimum GPA of 3.5.
- Enrolled as a full-time student while at BCC.
*There is no scholarship application. winners will be selected from eligible applicants to Bryant University.

Transfer Scholarships from Clark University
Clark University, located in Worcester, Ma, offers several scholarships to transfer students. No separate application is required; all applicants who meet the criteria and apply for admission to Clark are considered. These scholarships are based solely on merit, but students may also apply for financial aid through the financial aid office at Clark. Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship - $10,000 Up to 10 merit-based scholarships to students transferring to Clark from two-year colleges. Applicants must:
- Be members of Phi Theta Kappa
- Have a minimum GPA of 3.5
- Be transferring with a minimum of 45 credits
- Be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents
- Meet all admissions and supporting credentials deadlines
Phi Theta Kappa All-USA Academic Scholarship - $15,000 Up to four merit-based scholarships to students transferring to Clark from two-year colleges who have been nominated to the Phi theta Kappa/All-USA Academic Team. Applicants must:
- Have a minimum GPA of 3.7.
- Be transferring to Clark with an associate’s degree or a minimum of 60 credits.
- Be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents.
- Meet all admissions and supporting credentials deadlines.
Transfer Leadership Scholarship - $7000 Awarded to students who are transferring from either a two-year or four-year institution. Applicants must:
- Have demonstrated leadership at their institution, place of employment, or community organization.
- Have a minimum GPA of 3.3 while carrying a full course load in a challenging curriculum.
- Be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents.
- Meet all admissions and supporting credentials deadlines.
Boston University Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship
Boston University awards two-year, $20,000 tuition scholarships to selected transfer students who are members of the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society and are nominated by their chapter advisor. Students competitive for this award are outstanding leaders who have demonstrated academic excellence. Recipients must enroll as juniors at Boston University with a minimum of 60 transferable credits. For more information on how to apply, interested students can visit our website.

Guaranteed Transfer Scholarship
Lesley University and The Art Institute of Boston
Lesley's Community College Scholarship is an $8000 award, guaranteed and renewable for a second year, for a total value of $16,000. The scholarship will be awarded to Bristol Community College graduates who apply, are admitted and enroll in either one of Lesley's undergraduate colleges-The Art Institute of Boston (AIB) or Lesley College.
