greenPRINT

Bristol Community College recognizes that students need to print in the course of doing academic work. The College also recognizes its responsibility to discourage waste and to promote environmentally-friendly uses of resources.greenPRINT, a print management system and policy, was designed to raise awareness of spiraling printing costs and reduce wasted paper.

Currently-enrolled Credit Students
Currently enrolled credit students are provided with a free allocation of prints for use in any of the College’s computer labs and libraries. The number of prints is set to an amount that will accommodate the vast majority of student printing needs. Students will use their accessBCC user name and password to log on to all computers at lab locations. When a student prints, a box will appear informing them how many pages they are about to print and the total cost of the print job. Students who deplete their account will need to deposit BRISTOL BUCK$ at one of the account management stations or the Student Accounts Office in Fall River. Account management stations are located at the Fall River campus in the Library (A) and Stoico (K) Building, and at the Attleboro and New Bedford campuses. Costs per print for credit students are 10¢ for black and white and 25¢ for color prints, but could change periodically.

Currently-enrolled Non-credit Students
Students enrolled in non-credit courses should plan for the cost of printing as part of the supplies for their course(s) and can purchase a guest card if their course requires printing. Non-credit students will pay a small charge per print to recover the actual cost of consumables including paper, toner, and equipment maintenance. Students can purchase a “rechargeable” card for $1.00 which includes 30¢ worth of funds. Costs per print for non-credit students are 15¢ for black and white prints and 50¢ for color prints, but could change periodically. Additional BRISTOL BUCK$ can be added at one of the account management stations located at the Fall River campus in the Library (A) and Stoico (K) Building, and at the Attleboro and New Bedford campuses.

Currently-enrolled Center for Adult Basic Education Students
Students enrolled in courses offered through the Center for Adult Basic Education (ABE) are provided with a free allocation of prints for use in any of the College’s computer labs and in the Library. The number of prints is set to an amount that will accommodate the vast majority of student printing needs. Students will use their accessBCC user name and password to log on to all computers at lab locations. When a student prints, a box will appear informing them how many pages they are about to print and the total cost of the print job. Students who deplete their greenPRINT account will need to deposit BRISTOL BUCK$ at one of the account management stations or at the Student Accounts Office in Fall River. Account management stations are located at the Fall River campus in the Library (A) and Stoico (K) Building, and at the Attleboro and New Bedford campuses. Costs per print for the Center for ABE students are 10¢ for black and white and 25¢ for color prints, but could change periodically.

Alumni and Community Members
The College is committed to providing members of its communities with access to computing resources. Alumni and community members (guests or visitors) pay a small charge per print to recover the actual cost of consumables including paper, toner, and equipment maintenance. Guests can purchase a “rechargeable” card for $1.00 which will include 30¢ worth of funds. Costs per print are 15¢ for black and white prints and 50¢ for color prints, but could change periodically.
