October: Domestic Violence Awareness Month
 

Every Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. starting Wednesday Oct 8, the New Bedford Women’s Center will have a table at the New Bedford Campus lobby for the Month of October  

Tuesday, 10/22 Domestic Violence Candle light Vigil, in collaboration with the New Bedford Women’s Center Vigil will start at the New Bedford City Hall Steps at 6 p.m.

Wednesday, 10/23 Lunch & Learn Make Your Own Wellness Tea - Women’s Center  Learn about the health benefits of different common herbs, and create your own delicious tea blend to support your wellness needs! Women’s Center, Fall River Campus, Noon – 2 p.m. 

Thursday, 10/24 Gender-Based Violence Conscious Raising Discussion, Women’s Center Fall River Campus, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.   

Monday, 10/28 Circle of Success: A conversation with successful Latina women in the community Faculty Staff Lounge, Fall River Campus, 1 - 2 p.m.  

Tuesday, 10/29 Gender-Based Violence: Challenges and Mitigation in Mozambique The lecture will have speaker and Humphrey Fellow from Mozambique - Isaura Mauelele, specialist in Gender and Law, Women’s Center Fall River Campus, 12:30 p.m. - 1:45 p.m.  

November 2019 

Tuesday, 11/12 In honor of Veterans Day, Ingrid Centurion, served twenty-two years in the US Army and was the first female Company Commander of an all-male Hispanic flight training company at the United States Army Aviation Flight Training Center of Excellence. C- Building, Room 111, Fall River Campus, 9 a.m.

Wednesday, 11/13 Student Panel in collaboration with the One Book the Hate You Give –in Community Room, New Bedford Campus, 9 a.m.

Wednesday, 11/20 Lunch & Learn Winter Wellness: Herbal Immunity 

Empower yourself through sampling & exploring a few simple natural remedies that you can make to keep you healthy all winter long. Women’s Center, Fall River Campus, Noon – 2 p.m.
