A Dream Realized…
The College and the BCC Foundation saw a dream come true in October 2000 when the Grimshaw-Gudewicz Art Gallery opened to the public. Donors attending a reception preceding the first public opening enjoyed the gallery's exhibition of Works From the Permanent Collection curated by gallery director Kathleen Hancock. The Grimshaw-Gudewicz Art Gallery was the result of a two-year campaign led by the Bristol Community College Foundation, which raised more than $500,000 for the gallery. The funds were matched by public funds through the assistance of the Division of Capital Asset Management.
"It starts with the Arts"
I am firmly convinced that the community with a strong arts commitment is the better for it. The quality of life improves. People have places to go, choices to make, things to see. The benefits are a hundred fold! Our world is expanded and changed. We become civilized. We understand each other better and finally, we improve.
