Cuffe: TaxedIn celebration of Native American Heritage Month, Bristol Community College invites you to a FREE special screening of CUFFE: TAXED, a bold, irreverent historical adventure about Paul Cuffe, one of America's most remarkable and least-known heroes. Born to a Wampanoag mother and an African father, Cuffe became a successful mariner, entrepreneur, activist, and philanthropist who challenged injustice and used his success to uplift his community. CUFFE: TAXED takes us back to 1778, when 19-year-old Cuffe risks his life to deliver desperately needed provisions to Nantucket through a British blockade during the Revolutionary War.

The evening will also feature the award-winning music video “Paul Cuffe Is Me,” featuring rapper Daniel Laurent, a bold, contemporary celebration of Cuffe's extraordinary legacy.

Following the screenings, join filmmaker Anita Allison, lead actor Tyson Brown, rapper and musical artist Daniel Laurent, Wampanoag historian Alyssa Harris, Bristol Community College Native American History faculty member Robyn Worthington, and Carney Family Charitable Foundation Program Officer Darleen Spenser for a panel discussion exploring Cuffe's legacy, the creative process behind the films, and why his story still matters today.
