Please note: Advising & Success will be closed for a department meeting on Monday, January 5, until Noon.

Academic Advising at Bristol is a cornerstone of student support, providing a caring and consistent presence throughout your college experience. Advisors can assist students with:

  • Academic Planning: What course to take when, in what order.
  • Course Registration: Building a schedule for fall, spring and summer semesters.
  • Resources and Referrals: Connecting students to other offices and resources.
  • General Support: Serving as a general support person for students.

When in doubt, check with your Advisor. We’ll always be happy to see you!

Appointments

Students can make appointments with their assigned professional advisor through EAB Navigate360, which is also available as an app (Apple / Android). Students are typically assigned an advisor after completing orientation. To see who your advisor is and make an appointment with them:

  1. Sign into Navigate360.
  2. Click the Appointments tab.
  3. Click the “Schedule an Appointment” button.
  4. Click “Meet With Your Success Team.”
  5. Select your advisor, why you’d like to meet and your preferred date.

Appointments can be scheduled as many as nine calendar days in advance. If you do not see any appointments with your assigned advisor, we recommend checking again tomorrow or trying to connect with your advisor during their drop-in hours.

Drop-In Hours

For students assigned to faculty advisors (professors who teach courses), students assigned to the Advising Center, or students with time-sensitive needs, we also offer drop-in hours. Drop-ins are first-come first-serve; students will be given a 30-minute block to meet with an advisor that same day.

For our busy season from January 5 to February 6, drop-in hours have been extended:

  • Attleboro: Thursdays, 9 a.m. – Noon and 1 – 3 p.m.
  • Fall River: Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
  • New Bedford: Tuesdays, 9 a.m. – Noon and 1 – 3 p.m.
  • Taunton: Wednesdays, 9 a.m. – Noon and 1 – 3 p.m.

We will also be offering the following extra after-hours drop-in hours on the Fall River Campus only:

  • Wednesday, January 7, 4 – 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, January 10, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • Wednesday, January 14, 4 – 7 p.m.
  • Wednesday, January 21 (first day of classes), 4 – 7 p.m.

To meet with an advisor for our drop-ins, we recommend coming in person to any of these campuses on the indicated drop-in days. If you are not able to come to campus, please contact the Advising & Success office at 774.357.2777; we will have extra staff monitoring the phones to assist with helping students connect with an advisor that day.

Note: Students with Orientation, Fiscal, Immunization or other registration holds must resolve those to register for courses. To find out if you have any holds and how to get them lifted, please review the Holds section on Navigate360.

FAQs

I’m a new student, when can I register for courses?

After applying and being accepted to classes for the fall, new students are ready to be advised once they’ve sent in their proof of HS graduation, completed New Student Orientation, and taken placement testing/received a placement testing waiver. You can find our Admitted Students Checklist for more information.

How do I register as a guest student?

Guest students are those who are looking to just take a course or two without applying to the college, sometimes for the purpose of transferring the credit back to another institution. Guest students can register on their own by following the Guest Student Registration Procedure. We are also happy to meet with guest students during drop-in hours.
