Bristol Community College’s Grimshaw-Gudewicz Art Gallery presents From Here: Bristol Alumni in Art, Design, and Creative Practice, on view from September 10 to October 15, 2026.
Featuring the work of 21 Bristol alumni whose studies span more than four decades, the exhibition considers the lasting influence of arts education beyond graduation. The participating artists represent a wide range of creative practices, including painting, photography, printmaking, design, illustration, tattoo art, animation, education, and multidisciplinary work.
From Here brings together both artwork and alumni reflections on their experiences in Bristol’s Art & Design programs. Across generations, those reflections describe faculty mentorship, experimentation, critique, curiosity, and the confidence to develop an individual creative voice. Together, they suggest that the enduring value of an arts education lies not only in what students learn to make, but in how they learn to think.
The exhibition’s title recognizes Bristol Community College as both a place and a point of departure: a place where creative journeys begin and a foundation that continues to shape artists, educators, designers, entrepreneurs, and community leaders long after graduation.
An opening reception will be held Thursday, September 10, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Grimshaw-Gudewicz Art Gallery, 777 Elsbree Street, Fall River.
