Bristol Community College’s Joseph A. Marshall Veterans Center will host a special screening of the acclaimed film Devotion as a fundraising event supporting the college’s Student Veterans of America (SVA) chapter.
The fundraiser will take place on Wednesday, March 25, at 6 p.m., in room H210, in the Jackson Arts Center (H building), on the Bristol Fall River Campus, 777 Elsbree Street. Tickets are $15.

Devotion, based on the best-selling book, tells the true story of U.S. Navy fighter pilots Captain Thomas J. Hudner, Jr., a Fall River native, and Medal of Honor recipient; and Ensign Jesse L. Brown, the first African American to complete Navy flight training, whose heroism during the Korean War made them among the Navy’s most celebrated aviators.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will directly support SVA programming, including peer mentorship, academic support and community-building initiatives that help veterans transition from military to college life.
“Student veterans bring leadership, discipline and a powerful sense of purpose to our campus,” said Gary Dubois, SVA President, Bristol Community College. “This event not only supports their success but also helps the community understand the experiences and contributions of those who have served.”
Bristol Community College’s Joseph A. Marshall Veterans Center serves as a single point of contact for all Bristol and Veterans Affairs materials, educational benefit certification, academic counseling, essential resources, opportunities for peer connections and assistance with job preparation and placement services, including veteran-specific job fairs and recruitment activities.
