The Equal Opportunity, Non-Discrimination and Title IX Plan outlines support and resources available through its discrimination and Title IX complaint processes. Supportive measures are individualized; non-disciplinary measures intended to preserve access to education or employment and promote safety. These measures may include referrals to confidential resources, which are also available to individuals who wish to discuss their concerns, explore their options, or seek support without filing a complaint or participating in a formal process.

Supportive measures

  • Referrals to counseling, advocacy, and other campus or community services.
  • Academic deadline adjustments, schedule changes, or other available course-related assistance.
  • Work schedule or assignment adjustments and leaves of absence.
  • Campus escorts, safety planning, increased monitoring, or appropriate contact restrictions.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for benefits-eligible employees.

Available measures depend on the circumstances and are provided without a fee or charge. Appropriate support may be available to complainants and respondents. Receiving support does not establish responsibility. Contact the office if a measure is not effective or your circumstances change.

Under the discrimination process, a party may challenge a decision about supportive measures in writing to an Impartial Employee within 10 business days. The office can explain the review procedure and the options applicable to your case.

Confidential campus resources

Confidential campus resource status applies only when a person is acting within the relevant professional or designated role. Always be sure to ask about confidentiality and any legal limits before sharing details if this is a concern for you. Employees seeking confidential support may ask Human Resources for current Employee Assistance Program access information. HR and the Title IX office themselves should not be described as confidential counseling services.
